Hmm... that's a tall order, my gem Razz

Can you give some examples of things that you've read and seen that you've liked before? ^.^

Some of my favorite "children's" books:

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

Sabriel by Garth Nix

Protector of the Small (series) by Tamora Pierce

Some of my favorite manga:

Cardcaptor Sakura by CLAMP (Eh...I've read a lot of CLAMP though Rolling Eyes)

D. Gray-Man by Hoshino Katsua (a little violent, very dark)

Blade of the Immortal by Hiroaki Samura (very violent, very dark)

Mythical Detective Loki by Sakura Kinoshita

Err...probably a lot of others and I'll edit more in as I remember them >.>

Some of my favorite fantasy/sci-fi books:

Memory, Sorrow and Thorn (series: first book is titled The Dragonbone chair) by Tad Williams

Firebird by Mercedes Lackey

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card

Tam Lin by Pamela Dean (this book went out of print and I think they've started to reprint it >.>;; I don't know if the reprint is exactly the same)

Again...there are more that I can't remember and just some of the ones off the top of my head....

Some of my favorite "other" books:

Romance of the Three Kingdoms (side note, many different versions, many different authors... just find one that fits you)

The Cat Who (series of murder mysteries)

Equus by Peter Shaffer (Very dark, very graphic, very disturbed play.. one of my favorites but not what I'd normally recommend to people )

and once again...my brain has failed me...

I'll do movies some other time Razz

(And I aplogize in advance for the lengthy response! =x)

Currently reading: Snow Flower and the Secret Fan (recommended to me by a former English teacher). Actually, I've bought the book and it's by my bedside, but I haven't actually started reading it yet. XD

I've gotten a good number of authors and titles to read so far! My goal is to at least buy the bloody book and have it near so at least I can be like, "Hey! I meant to read that..." I'm like LotD where if it's well-written and (if there's a plot) I like the plot, I'm willing to read it. Most of my reading comes from the fantasy genre and general fiction, if I had to narrow it down.

(Btw - Patricia Wrede's Enchanted Forest Chronicles is a good read for anyone who's looking to pick up a fantasy-genre series. The style of writing is good and her characters are amusing.)

Anyway as mama requested, an example of what I've read (that I can remember =x)

Authors read:
-Garth Nix (Abhorsen series, though nothing that he's published recently)
-Anne McCaffrey (Pern series)
-Mercedes Lackey (Valdemar series)
-Stephen King (A handleful of books here and there long ago)
-Tamora Pierce (Everything published up to "The Circle Opens")
-Jane Yolen (Dragon Trilogy, although I admit I almost stopped reading after the second book :>)
-Patricia Wrede (Enchanted Forest Chronicles)
-Barbara Kingsolver (Poisonwood Bible was a good book)
-Mitch Albom (He wrote Tuesdays With Morrie if anyone's read that)
-Anne Lamott (I THINK that's her name, but I read her writing from some classes I took)
-Dante Alighieri (>>;; Humanities class ftw! The style was really hard to work through, but after you got the gist of it, it was fine...)
-J.K. Rowlings (I admit it. XD)
-C.S. Lewis (Narnia Surprised)

Random Titles:
-Flowers for Algernon
-Tree Grows in Brooklyn
-Memoirs of a Geisha
-Lovely Bones
-Hot Zone (Preston, about the ebola virus - I know he wrote a sequel but I forget the title)
-Phantom (Susan Kay)
-Night (Elie Wiesel)
-Sophie's World (Loooonnnng read, but if you're into philosophy it's good - I liked it after I found time to read it since it was an assigned text)
-Angels and Demons (Good read, better than DaVinci Code IMO)
-Life of Pi
-Blood and Chocolate

Manga Read (I'm laughing as I read the series list - yes I did read these at one point and enjoyed them!)
-Fruits Basket (Most recent one)
-Cardcaptor Sakura
-Magic Knight Rayearth
-Tsubasa
-Chobits
-X-1999 (Started, but never finished)
-Marmalade Boy

Authors/Manga to read/look at:
-Terry Goodkind (what kind of writing and genre?)
-Wilbur Smith (I think I've seen one of his books as a bestseller when I went Christmas shopping last weekend)
-Tobias Wolffe (This Boy's Life and something else I forgot)
-Ouran HighSchool Host Club
-GTO (Are there multiples series?)
-David Sedaris
